Captivated

So it’s been a while since my last update, and I apologize for that. Back in December I was busy trying to finish up my film, as well as getting ready for graduation. I said in the last post that I was about finished with my film. That was partially right.

At the time I was finishing it up for my class and pretty proud of how far I had come with the film. When I showed it on the last day of class there were a few things the class pointed out that I needed to fix. Some of this was just from me looking at everything for so long and not noticing it, while a few things didn’t get fixed because of the time frame I was under. Other things were just little suggestions to help improve the film itself, like adding a few sound effects.

Now I thought that after I turned in my film I would feel like a weight would be lifted off my shoulders. In a way it was and it also wasn’t. I was thrilled that I got it turned in and I wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. But I also was not happy that people could point out some of the flaws so easily. This meant that I planned on fixing those things before saying the film was actually complete.

After that came graduation and, in my opinion, a well deserved break. So I came home, did nothing for about a week, then ended up getting a job. Not a job in the field I my degree in, but something to pay the bills. In between my time relaxing and work, I would put in some time on fixing my film. I didn’t really sit down and power through it though, it was at more of a leisurely pace.

Finally near the end of April I finished everything I was working on fixing. This also happened to be when I found out my film was going to be shown at my schools little film festival. Middle Tennessee State Universities “First Look” took place at the beginning of May, where it was shown and I was there for it, which pretty cool to see it on a big screen.

Since then I haven’t really been doing much of anything. I do have another film in mind that I am going to work on, but not sure when I am going to start it. For now I am going to work on making a few characters I can do whatever with. Probably stuff to add to my demo reel. I am also going to try and post updates of what I am working on to show the progress of everything. I have never been good at showing people the progress I make so we will see if I can post whatever I am working on.

Lastly, I would like to say thanks for reading through all of this crap I have been doing since the beginning of the year. So below you can watch my short film “Captivated” to see what I put most of my time into. If you need a password to watch it just use “Captivated”.
